1. SCOPE

This standard contains provisions for structural design of confined masonry, constructed with solid burnt clay bricks, fly ash bricks, solid or hollow concrete blocks, or burnt clay hollow blocks in regard to the type of materials to be used, material properties, and methods of design.

The Indian Standards listed in Annex A contain provisions, which, through reference in the text, constitute provisions of this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated in Annex A.
