NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 22081 : 2021 ‘Geometrical product specifications (GPS) - Geometrical tolerancing - General geometrical specifications and general size specifications’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the General Engineering and Fasteners Standards Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.

IS 2102 (Part 2) : 1993 was published by adopting ISO 2768-2 : 1989 ‘General tolerances - Part 2: Geometrical tolerances for features without individual tolerance indications’. ISO 2768-2 : 1989 was superseded by ISO 22081 : 2021. Therefore, the committee responsible for the formulation of this standard decided to adopt ISO 22081 : 2021 superseding IS 2102 (Part 2) : 1993. After the publication of this standard, IS 2102 (Part 2) : 1993 will be withdrawn.
