IS 17900 : Part 20 : 2024 Lifts for the Transport of Persons and Goods - Part 20 Dumbwaiters - Specification and Safety Rules for Planning, Installation, Operation and Maintenance
1 SCOPE
1.1 This standard (Part 20) covers the essential requirements, design considerations, testing and precautions to be exercised during installation of dumbwaiters operated by electric power so as to ensure safe and satisfactory performance. It also provides guidance for proper maintenance after installation.
1.2 This standard applies to dumb waiters as defined and does not apply to platforms, motor vehicle lifts, amusement devices, skip hoists, conveyors or similar apparatus used for raising, pilling or tiring.
