NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 20507 : 2014 ‘Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced technical ceramics) - Vocabulary’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Ceramicware Sectional Committee and approval of the Division Council’.

This Indian Standard is a vocabulary, which provides a list of terms and associated definitions typically used for fine ceramic (advanced ceramic, advanced technical ceramic) materials, products, applications, properties, and processes. This International Standard contains, in separate lists, those abbreviations which have found general acceptance in the scientific and technical literature; they are given together with the corresponding terms and definitions or descriptions.
