This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 14705 : 2016 ‘Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced technical ceramics) - Test method for hardness of monolithic ceramics at room temperature’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Ceramicware Sectional Committee and approval of the Division Council’.

This Indian Standard specifies a test method for determining the Vickers and Knoop hardness of monolithic fine ceramics at room temperature.
