NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 11665-3 : 2020 ‘Measurement of radioactivity in the environment - Air : radon-222 Part 3 : Spot measurement method of the potential alpha energy concentration of its short-lived decay products’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

Under the general title ‘Measurement of radioactivity in the environment - Air : radon-222’ this Indian Standard is being published in several other parts. This part is an adoption ISO 11665-3 : 2020 which describes spot measurement methods for determining the activity concentration of short -lived radon-222 decay products in the air and for calculating the potential alpha energy concentration.
