NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 9978 : 2020 ‘Radiation protection - Sealed sources - Leakage test methods’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

This document specifies the different leakage test methods for sealed sources. It gives a comprehensive set of procedures using radioactive and non-radioactive means.
