NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 15968 : 2016 ‘Direct reduced iron - Determination of apparent density and water absorption of hot briquetted iron (HBI)’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Ores and feed for Iron and Steel Industry Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2000. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align with the latest version of ISO 15968 : 2016 under dual numbering system to harmonize it with the latest developments that have taken place at international level.
