IS 18190 : 2023 Fire Resistance of Perimeter Fire Barrier Joint System - Method of Tests
New Standard from Last Update.
1. SCOPE
1.1 This standard specifies the test method to determine the fire resistance performance of perimeter fire barrier joint system based on the length of time the system being tested to resist the fire before development of through openings or flaming and transmission of heat on the unexposed surface.
1.2 During the life cycle of the perimeter fire barrier joint system, it undergoes through various unintended movements, such as thermal, wind, seismic or a combination of these. This standard addresses such movements before subjecting the system to the fire resistance test.
1.3 The fire exposure conditions used are those specified by this test method for the first 30 min of exposure and then conform to the conditions specified in IS/ISO 834-1 time-temperature curve for the remainder of the test in the test room.
