NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with ISO 21909-1 : 2021 ‘Passivenneutron dosimetrysystems - Part 1: Performance and testrrequirements forppersonalddosimetry’ issued by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

This standard provides performance and test requirements for determining the acceptability of neutron dosimetry systems to be used for the measurement of personal dose equivalent, Hp(10), for neutrons ranging in energy from thermal to 20 MeV. It applies to all passive neutron detectors that can be used within a personal dosemeters in part or in all of the above-mentioned neutron energy range. No distinction between the different techniques available in the marketplace is made in the description of the tests. Only generic distinctions, for instance, as disposable or reusable dosemeters, are considered
