NATIONAL FOREWORD

This draft standard (Part 1) (Fifth Revision) which is identical to ISO 7500-1 : 2018 ‘Metallic materials - Calibration and verification of static uniaxial testing machines - Part 1: Tension/compression testing machines - Calibration and verification of the force-measuring system’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Mechanical Testing of Metals Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1961 and subsequently revised in 1975, 1986, 2005 and 2015. The fourth revision of this standard was published as IS 1828 (Part 1) : 2015 identical with ISO 7500-1 : 2004. The fifth revision of this standard has been undertaken to align with the latest version of ISO 7500-1 : 2018 under dual numbering system to harmonize it with the latest developments that have taken place at international level.
