NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3) which is identical to ISO/TS 15213-3 : 2024 'Microbiology of the food chain - Horizontal method for the detection and enumeration of Clostridium spp. - Part 3: Detection of Clostridium perfringens' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Food Microbiology Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council.

This standard is published in three parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Enumeration of sulfite-reducing Clostridium spp. by colony-count technique

Part 2 Enumeration of Clostridium perfringens by colony-count technique

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
