IS 18371 : 2023/ISO 23776 : 2021 Meat and Meat Products - Determination of Total Phosphorus Content

NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 23776 : 2021 ‘Meat and meat products - Determination of total phosphorous content’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Slaughter House and Meat Industry Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council.
Earlier, test method for determination of total phosphorus content in meat and meat product was covered in IS 5960 (Part 9) : 1988 ‘Meat and meat products - Methods of test: Part 9 Determination of total phosphorus content’ and IS 5960 (Part 16) : 2004 ‘Meat and meat products - Methods of test: Part 16 Determination of total phosphorus content - Spectrometric method’. IS 5960 (Part 9) : 1988 was an identical adoption of ISO 2294 and IS 5960 (Part 16) : 2004 was an identical adoption of ISO 13730. Subsequently, ISO 2294 and ISO 13730 were withdrawn and superseded by ISO 23776. Accordingly with the publication of this standard, IS 5960 (Part 9) : 1988 and IS 5960 (Part 16) : 2004 would be withdrawn.
