NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is an identical adoption of ISO 8624 : 2020 ‘Ophthalmic Optics - Spectacle Frames - Measuring System and Vocabulary' issued by the International Organization for Standardization was adopted by Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of Ophthalmic Instruments and Appliances Sectional Committee, MHD 05 and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2018 as IS/ ISO 8624 : 2011 ‘Ophthalmic optics - Spectacle frames - Measuring system and terminology’. This first revision has been undertaken to align it with the latest edition of ISO 8624 : 2020.
