1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard specifies construction, operation, safety requirements and tests for canister based domestic ethanol cookstove (fixed and removable canister type) with metallic bodies intended for use with ethanol at normal atmospheric pressure.

1.2 This standard also specify the characteristics of ethanol to be used as a fuel in the domestic ethanol cookstoves and various safety precautions to be followed while operating the stove and storing the canister. It also highlights the permissible limits of ethanol vapour during operation/non-operation of the stove and storage of the canister.

1.3 For convenience, this standard has been divided into four sections, which are as follows:
