This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical to ISO 18310-1 : 2017 'Measurement and prediction ofthe ambient dose equivalent from patients receiving iodine 131 administration after thyroid ablation - Part 1: During the hospitalization' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

This Indian Standard is published in two parts. The other part in this series is:

Part 2 External effective dose of the caregivers after release from the hospital

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard withoutdeviations. Certain conventions and terminologies are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a)Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should beread as 'Indian Standard'; and

b)Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker in the International Standard, while in IndianStandards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
