NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with IEC 60050-845 : 2020 ‘International electrotechnical vocabulary (IEV) - Part 845: Lighting’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Basic Electrotechnical Standard and Power Quality Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard covers the requirement of electrotechnical vocabulary on lighting which was previously covered in IS 1885 (Part 16/Sec 1) : 1968, IS 1885 (Part 16/Sec 2) : 1968 and IS 1885 (Part 16/Sec 3) : 1967 identical to IEC 60050-45 : 1958, IEC 50 (45) and IEC 50 (54) respectively.
