NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 192) which is identical with IEC 60050-192 : 2015 ‘International electrotechnical vocabulary — Part 192: Dependability’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Reliability of Electronic and Electrical Components and Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 1885 (Part 39) was first published in 1974 and was based on IEC Pub 50 (271). The first revision of above mentioned standard was published in 1980 was largely based on IEC (Pub 271) (1974) and IEC Doc: 56 (CO) 62. The second revision was published in 1999 and based on IEC Pub 50 (191). IEC 60050-191: 1990 was withdrawn and replaced by IEC 60050-192: 2015. This superseding is being done to align it with the latest version of IEC 60050-192: 2015 + Amd 1: 2016. On publication of this Standard, IS 1885 (Part 39): 1999 stands withdrawn.
