NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 44) (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 60050-561 : 2014 ‘International electrotechnical vocabulary - Part 561: Piezoelectric, dielectric and electrostatic devices and associated materials for frequency control, selection and detection’ issued by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Magnetic Components, Ferrite Materials, Piezoelectric and Frequency Control Devices Sectional Committee, and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1978. The first revision of this standard was brought out in 2001. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60050-561 : 2014.

Amendment 1, Amendment 2, Amendment 3 and Amendment 4 to this International Standard published in year 2016, 2020, 2021 and 2021 respectively are given at the end of this publication.
