NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 60) (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 60050-426 : 2020 ‘International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV) - Part 426: Explosive atmospheres’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Basic Electrotechnical Standards and Power Quality Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1984 and was revised in 1993. First revision of this standard was identical with IEC 60050-426 : 1990. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 60050-426 : 2020.
