This Indian Standard (Part 71) which is identical with IEC Pub50 (605) (1983) `International electrotechnical vocabulary -Chapter 605 : Generation, transmission and distribution ofelectricity - Substations, issued by InternationalElectrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted by the Bureau ofIndian Standards on the recommendation of the BasicElectrotechnical Standards Sectional Committee and approval of theElectrotechnical Division Council.

Only the English text given in the IEC publication has beenretained while adopting as Indian Standard, and as such the pagenumbers given here are not the same as in IEC Publication.
