This Indian Standard (Part 79) which is identical with IEC Pub50 (603)(1986) `International electrotechnical vocabulary - Chapter603 : Power system planning and management, transmission anddistribution of electricity - Generation', issued by theInternational Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted by theBureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the BasicElectrotechnical Standards Sectional Committee and approval of theElectrotechnical Division Council.

Only the English text given in the IEC publication has beenretained while adopting as Indian Standard, and as such the pagenumbers given here are not same as in IEC Publication.
