This Indian Standard (Part 9) (Second Revision) which isidentical with IEC Pub 50 (446) (1983) `Internationalelectrotechnical voca bulary-Chapter 446 : Electrical relays,issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), wasadopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation ofBasic Electrotechnical Standards Sectional Committee and approvalof the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This Indian Standard (Part 9) was first published in 1966 andthe first revision was done in 1986. This second revision has beenundertaken to align with the international practice.
