NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 2) which is identical to IEC 62561-2 : 2018 'Lightning protection system components (LPSC) - Part 2: Requirements for conductors and earth electrodes' issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electrical Installation Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This Standard is published in several parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Requirements for connection components

Part 3 Requirements for isolating spark gaps (ISGs)

Part 4 Requirements for conductor fasteners

Part 5 Requirements for earth electrode inspection housings and earth electrode seals

Part 6 Requirements for lightning strike counters (LSCs)

Part 7 Requirements for earthing enhancing compounds

Part 8 Requirements for components for isolated LPS

The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appears referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
