NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian standard (Part 1) which is identical to IEC 60235-1 : 1972 ‘Measurement of the electrical properties of microwave tubes Part 1: Terminology’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of Electronic Display Devices and Systems Sectional Committee, and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 1885(Part 4/sec 3) was published in 1970 & IS 1885 (Part 4/Sec 5) was published in 1972 and these were largely based on IEC 60235-1 : 1967 “Measurement of the electrical properties of microwave tubes and valves, Part 1: General terms and definitions”. IEC 60235-1 : 1967 has been withdrawn & replaced by IEC 60235-1 : 1972.
