NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical to ISO 14952-4 : 2003 'Space systems - Surface cleanliness of fluid systems - Part 4: Rough-cleaning processes' issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of Air and Space Vehicles Sectional Committee and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.

This standard has been published in several parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 2 Cleanliness levels

Part 3 Analytical procedures for the determination of non-volatile residues and particulate contamination

Part 5 Drying processes

Part 6 Precision-cleaning processes

Vocabulary on this subject has been published as a separate standard 'Space systems - Surface cleanliness of fluid systems - Part 1: Vocabulary' of IS 19261 (Part 1)/ISO 14952-1.

The text of ISO standard has been proposed as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
