NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 19) which is identical with IEC TR 60878 : 2015 ‘Graphical symbols for electrical equipment in medical practice’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Basic Electrotechnical Standards and Power Quality Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1977. This revision has been undertaken to take into consideration the developments that have taken place subsequently and also to align with the latest version of IEC TR 60878 : 2015.
