IS 2065 : 1983 Code of practice for water supply in buildings

1 Scope

1.1 This code deals with water supply in buildings, and coversgeneral requirements and regulations for water supply, plumbingconnected to public water supply, licensing of plumbers, design ofwater supply systems, principles of conveyance and distribution ofwater within the premises, storage, water fittings and appliances,and inspection and maintenance.

1.2 Many administrative authorities controlling water supplyhave their own set of bye-laws, rules and regulations for supply ofwater to suit local conditions. These should be strictly conformedto before operations are commenced for laying of pipelines orplumbing systems which are to be connected to public water supply.

1.3 This code does not cover aspects of water supply for firefighting purposes.
