1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers in situ construction of walls inbuildings with soil-cement or other stabilized soil.

1.1.1 This type of construction is recommended forsingle-storeyed buildings with a wall height not exceeding 3.2 mand with a minimum wall thickness of 300 mm for load bearing and200 mm for non-load bearing walls.

1.2 The same procedure as recommended in the standard may beadopted for rammed in situ wall construction with unstabilizedsoil, provided the surfaces of the wall are protected with awaterproof mud plaster, a typical specification.
