1. SCOPE

This standard (Part 1) specifies the safety requirements for double-capped fluorescent lamps, commonly known as tubular fluorescent lamps of G5 and G13 caps for general lighting purposes.

NOTE - Compliance with this standard concerns only safety criteria and does not take into account the performance of doublecapped fluorescent lamps for general lighting purposes with respect to luminous flux, colour, starting and operationalcharacteristics as specified in IS 2418 (Part 2).
