This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with ISO 53 :1998 `Cylindrical gears for general and heavy engineering -Standard basic rack tooth profile' issued by the InternationalOrganization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau ofIndian Standards on the recommendations of the Transmission DevicesSectional Committee and approval of the Medical Instruments,General and Production Engineering Division Council.
