1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard (Part 1) covers general requirements relating to material, manufacture, quality, dimensional tolerances and performance requirements as applicable to all concerned vitreous China sanitary appliances, and also details the methods of test by which their properties may be assessed.

1.2 The specific requirements for various sanitary appliances are covered in the other parts of this standard.
