1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard (Part 8) covers the requirements for patterns, construction, dimensions and tolerances, finish, inspection and marking of close-coupled and one-piece pedestal water closets, both syphonic and washdown type and made of vitreous China.

1.2 IS 2556 (Part 1) is a necessary adjunct to this standard.

1.3 This standard (Part 8) does not cover independent pedestal washdown water closets, which are covered in IS 2556 (Part 2).
