1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard (Part 1) lays down guidelines for strength requirements, manufacturing details, sampling and testing of corrugated fibreboard material and boxes, suitable both as inner and outer containers for the transport of goods.

1.2 This standard does not cover the requirements for waterproofness, compression strength and puncture strength of the corrugated fibreboard boxes which shall be specified by the purchaser depending upon the type of product to be packed by him. However, requirement of edge crush test is prescribed in the standard to verify the load bearing capacity of box.
