IS 2812 : 1993 Recommendations for manual tungsten inert gas arc welding of aluminium and aluminium alloys

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the recommendations on materials,equipment and general workmanship for manual tungsten inert-gas arcwelding of wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys. Therecommendations are primarily intended for general engineeringapplication for manual welding of aluminium and aluminium alloys upto 25.0 mm thick with argon as the shielding gas.

1.1.1 The provisions of this standard are not applicable forrepair of castings by welding.

1.1.2 Details of documentation required shall be agreed tobetween the supplier and the purchaser prior to the commencement ofwork.
