NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical with IEC 60751 : 2022 ‘Industrial platinum resistance thermometers and platinum temperature sensors’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Basic Industrial Process Measurement and Control Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1965 and later revised in 1986 as IS 2848 : 1986 ‘Specification for industrtal platinum resistance thermometer sensors’. The Committee decided to adopt IEC Standard as IS 2848 : 2022 in order to harmonize it with the latest developments that have taken place at international level. This revision has been undertaken to align with the latest version of IEC 60751 : 2022.
