1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard (Part 1/Sec 4) covers the design and construction of precast concrete piles in prebored holes which transmit the load to the soil by resistance developed either at the pile tip by endbearing or along the surface of the shaft by friction or by both.

1.2 This standard is not applicable for use of precast concrete piles in prebored holes for any other purpose, for example, temporary or permanent retaining structure.
