IS 3025 : Part 38 : Sec 2 : 2023/ISO 17289 : 2014 Methods of Sampling and Test (Physical and Chemical) for Water and Waste Water - Part 38 Dissolved Oxygen - Section 2 Optical Sensor Method
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 38/Sec 2) which is identical to 'ISO 17289 : 2014 Water quality - Determination of dissolved oxygen - Optical sensor method'issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), will be adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of Water Quality Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.
The Technical Committee responsible for formulation of IS 3025 : 1964 'Methods of sampling and test (physical and chemical) for water used in industry' decided to revise the standard and publish it in separate parts. IS 3025 (Part 38) was one among the different parts published under IS 3025 series of standards. The Committee decided to publish IS 3025 (Part 38) in two sections. This section of part 38 specifies an optical method for the determination of dissolved oxygen in water using a sensor working on the basis of fluorescence quenching. IS 3025 (Part 38/Sec 1) prescribes titrimetric and electrometric methods for determination of dissolved oxygen.
