1 SCOPE
1.1 This standard (Part 43/Sec 1) prescribes two spectrophotometric methods for the determination of phenol in natural waters, potable water supplies, domestic and industrial wastewaters:
a) 4-Aminoantipyrine method without chloroform extraction; and
b) 4-Aminoantipyrine method with chloroform extraction.
1.2 It does not apply to differentiate between various kinds of phenols.
