IS 3400 : Part 23 : Sec 2 : 2018 /ISO 7619-2 : 2010 Methods of Test for Vulcanized Rubbers Part 23 Rubber - Determination of Indentation Hardness by Means of Pocket Hardness Meters Section 2 IRHD pocket meter method
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 23/Sec 2) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 7619-2 : 2010 ‘Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic - Determination of indentation hardness - Part 2 IRHD pocket meter method’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Methods of Test for Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
The standard, IS 3400 (Part 23) was published in 2002 under dual numbering with ISO 7619 : 1997. Since ISO 7619 has been revised in 2010 and split in to two parts, the Sectional Committee has decided to align IS 3400 (Part 23) with the latest International Standards available on the subject. As this Indian Standard is already part of series of standards, it has been further decided to publish the two different parts of ISO 7016 as two sections of standard.
The other section in this series is:
Section 1:Durometer method (Shore hardness)
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
