IS 3588 : 1987 Specification for Electric Axial Flow Fans

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the requirements and tests for axialflow fans having impellers directly coupled to the shaft ofelectric motors or indirectly driven by electric motors. In thecase of indirectly driven fans, the electric motor shall conform tothe relevant Indian standard.

1.2 The fans for use under free flow conditions are excludedfrom the scope of this standard.

1.3 Axial flow fans for use in mines and hazardous atmospheresmay require additional requirements to be met, not covered by thisstandard.
