1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard (Part VII) covers essential ratings and characteristics and other information to be specified in the case of reverse blocking triode thyristors ( abbreviated to thyristors ) ( otherwise known as ‘ Semi- conductor controlled rectifiers’ ), which may be of the ‘ P Gate or N Gate ’types.

1.1.1 Turn-off thyristors (that is, thyristors turned off by gate control) are not covered by this standard.
