IS 3708 : Part 2 : 2024/ISO 2005 : 2014 Natural Rubber Latex - Methods of Test - Part 2 Determination of Sludge Content
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 2) (Second Revision) which is identical to ISO 2005 : 2014 'Rubber latex, natural, concentrate - Determination of sludge content' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation(s) of the Methods of Test for Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
This standard was published in 1966 as IS 3708 (Part 1) and revised in 1985 and published as IS 3708 (Part 2) as part of NRL series of IS 3708 comprising of 11 parts. In the first revision, assistance was drawn from ISO 2005 : 1974 'Natural rubber latex - Determination of sludge content', issued by the International Organization for Standardization. Second revision of this standard has been undertaken to completely align it with the latest version of ISO 2005 : 2014 under dual numbering system.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
