This Indian Standard, which is identical with IEC Pub 90 (1973)`Dimensions of plugs for hearing aids issued by the InternationalElectrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted by the IndianStandards Institution on the recommendation of Connectors forElectronic Equipment Sectional Committee and approved byElectronics and Telecommunication Division Council. This is thefirst revision of IS 3720-1966.

In the adopted standard certain terminology and conventions arenot identical with those used in Indian Standards, attention isespecially drawn to This.

Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in IndianStandards the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimalmarker.

Wherever the word `Recommendation appears referring to thisstandard, it should be read as `Indian Standard.
