1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for non-automatic orautomatic process control, jacketed, pressure steam sterilizers ofhorizontal cylindrical type, designed for working pressure of 220kN/m² (2.2 kgf/cm² approx) gaugebut shall be set to operate at 210⁺⁰ -0.15 kN/m² (2.1⁺⁰ - 0.15 kgf/cm²approx) gauge pressure (corresponding temperature of the saturatedsteam inside the chamber about 134�C) primarilyintended for emergency sterilization of unwrapped surgicalinstruments within six minutes.
