NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 7870-3 : 2020 ‘Methods for statistical quality control during production - Part 5: Acceptance control charts’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of Statistical Methods for Quality and Reliability Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2015. This first revision had been undertaken to align it with latest version of ISO 7870-3 : 2020.

The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

a) typo corrections in 9.1, example 1; and

b) editorial updates.
