This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 449:1997 ‘Ships and marine technology — Magnetic compasses, binnacles and azimuth reading devices — Class A’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Marine Engineering and Safety Aids Sectional Committee and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.
