1 Scope

1.1 This standard lays down the procedure to be followed incollecting and preparing samples from a lot in order to determineore sizes, moisture content and the chemical composition ofilmenite and rutile;

1.1.1 It details the procedures for the sampling of ilmenite andrutile from stock piles and from bags.

1.1.2 This standard also includes a method for reporting thequality of the bulk of the mineral sands (ilmenite and rutile)sampled.
