Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (fourth revision) which is identical with ISO 7326 : 2016 ‘Rubber and plastic hoses - Assessment of ozone resistance under static conditions’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1953 as IS 443 : 1953 ‘Methods of sampling and test for rubber hoses’ and was first revised in 1963. Second revision of the standard was published in 1975 taking assistance from AS 1180 : 1972 'Methods of test for hose made from elastomeric materials' published by Standards Association of Australia. In that revision, methods of tests for the requirements of tensile stress-strain properties, accelerated ageing, ply adhesion and resistance to oil were replaced by the methods prescribed under the series of IS 3400 Methods of test for vulcanized rubbers’. Tests for three new requirements pertaining to resistance to steam, resistance to vacuum and electrical conductivity were included. All these requirements were given as separate clauses from 3 to 15 of IS 443 : 1975.
