NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 8) which is identical with ISO 4671 : 2022 ‘Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies - Methods of measurement of the dimensions of hoses and the lengths of hose assemblies’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation(s) of the Methods of Test for Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2011 as IS 15913 : 2011 Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies - Methods of measurement of the dimensions of hoses and the lengths of hose assemblies, which was identical with ISO 4671 : 2007 under dual numbering system.

While reviewing various test methods published under various series like IS 443, IS 3400, IS 4511, IS 4518, IS 3708, IS 7016, IS 11720 etc., the committee observed that the test method published in IS 15913 is related to rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies for which IS 443 series is already available.
